digidisc Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 28, 2026

Digidisc Corporation ("we," "us") makes and sells digidiscs, collectible music products. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit digidisc.com or brianvogan.com, reserve or buy a digidisc, or receive our emails, and what we do with it.

The short version

  • We never see or store your full card number. Square handles your card.
  • We use your information to ship your order, keep a record of which numbered digidisc you own, help you, and send you email you can stop at any time.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

Your payment card

Payments are processed by Square (Block, Inc.). When you enter your card, it goes straight to Square through Square's secure payment form, not to us. Square stores your card under its own security standards (PCI DSS).

We keep only what Square sends back to us: a customer reference and card reference from Square, your card brand (for example, Visa), and the last four digits of your card. We use these to charge your order and to help you identify the card.

If you reserve a digidisc, Square saves your card with your permission and we charge it only when your order ships. Nothing is charged when you reserve. If you cancel before it ships, we ask Square to delete the saved card. Square's use of your information is covered by the Square Privacy Notice.

What we collect

Information you give us:

  • Name and email address
  • Shipping address
  • Phone number, if you choose to give it
  • Messages you send us

Information created when you order:

  • Order details, such as what you bought, the price, and the order date
  • The edition or unit number of the digidisc assigned to you. Each digidisc is numbered, and we keep a record of who owns each one.

Information collected automatically:

  • IP address, browser and device information, used to block fraud and abuse (for example, through Cloudflare Turnstile and limits on repeated requests)
  • Basic, anonymous site statistics, such as page views and page load speed (see "Analytics and cookies" below)
  • Listening totals and app activity from the digidisc player (see "The digidisc player" below)

How we use it

  • To process, charge, and ship your order
  • To assign your numbered digidisc and keep the ownership record
  • To answer questions and provide customer service
  • To replace damaged units
  • To prevent fraud and protect our site
  • To meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements
  • To understand how people use our site so we can improve it
  • To count plays for artist reports, royalties, and public charts, which show totals, not individual listeners
  • To send you emails about digidisc releases and news (see "Email" below)

Who we share it with

We share personal information only as described here:

  • Square, to process payments.
  • Shipping carriers, to deliver your order.
  • The artist and their team (for example, Brian Vogan for the Good Buddies box set), only to the extent needed to fulfill orders or account for artist royalties.
  • Service providers who help us run our business, such as website hosting, security, and email delivery. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
  • Legal reasons, when required by law or to protect our rights, our customers, or others.
  • Business transfers, if Digidisc Corporation is involved in a merger, sale, or similar transaction. The buyer would remain bound by this policy for information collected under it.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for targeted advertising across other companies' sites and apps.

Email

If you give us your email, we may send you news about digidisc and future releases. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also opt out by writing to us. We will still send emails about your order, such as receipts and shipping updates.

Analytics and cookies

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how our site performs. It does not use cookies or other browser storage, does not fingerprint visitors, and does not track you across other websites.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The digidisc player uses storage on your device instead of cookies, as described below. Cloudflare, which protects our site, may set strictly necessary cookies (such as __cf_bm or cf_clearance) to block bots and attacks. These are not used to identify you or follow you to other sites. Square's checkout form may use its own cookies for fraud prevention, under the Square Privacy Notice.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. We do not track you across other websites, so there is nothing for that signal to turn off, and we do not allow other companies to use our site to track you across other sites. The player's listening totals, described below, are not affected by this signal.

The digidisc player

When you open your digidiscs in the player at digidisc.com, it works like an app and keeps some information on your device and sends some to us.

Stored on your device

  • Your music, so you can play it offline.
  • The keys that prove your collection owns its digidiscs. They are encrypted on your device. If you save a passkey, your device's passkey manager stores it under your collection name.
  • A list of the albums and disc numbers in your collection.
  • Your first name and collection name, if you enter them. These are not sent to us.
  • Settings, such as whether you dismissed a tip.
  • Listening totals waiting to be sent.

Sent to us

  • Listening totals. For each session: which album tracks you played, seconds played, plays, completed plays, skips and where you skipped, start and end times, and whether you used the web or iPhone player. These are signed with your collection's key so we count only albums your collection owns.
  • App activity counts, such as finishing setup, saving a recovery kit, adding a device, or starting a download. Before you set up a collection, a few of these are sent as anonymous daily counts.
  • Disc activity. When a disc is checked, added to a collection, or downloaded, we record that event for that numbered unit.
  • Your country, based on your internet connection. We do not store your IP address with any of this. We use it only briefly to limit abuse.

How listeners are identified
We do not receive your name, email, card, or order with listening data, and we keep it separate from our customer and order records. Your collection is identified by a key made on your device, which we turn into a coded listener ID before storing anything. We also record a coded ID for each device that sends listening totals, so we can count how many devices a collection uses.

This is designed not to reveal who you are, but it is not fully anonymous. Each numbered unit's ownership is recorded on a public blockchain under your collection's address, and we hold the code used to make listener IDs. That means we could connect a listener ID to the units the collection holds. We do not use listening data to identify who owns a unit, except as described in this policy.

Retention
Detailed session reports are deleted after 30 days. Listening history, listening totals, and each unit's activity record are currently kept with no set end date.

Clearing it
You can remove everything the player stores by clearing site data for digidisc.com in your browser settings, or by deleting the app. Save your recovery kit or passkey first, or you may lose access to your collection on that device. Clearing your device does not delete what we already received. To ask us to delete it, contact us.

How long we keep it

We keep order and ownership records for as long as we maintain the ownership record for your digidisc, and at least as long as tax and accounting laws require (generally at least five years). We keep other information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, then delete it or make it anonymous.

How we protect it

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your information. Card data is handled by Square, not by us. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

  • Show you the personal information we have about you
  • Correct information that is wrong
  • Delete your information
  • Stop sending you marketing email

To make a request, email us at the address below. We may need to confirm your identity first. Depending on where you live, state law may give you additional rights, and we will honor them as required. If we deny a request, you may ask us to reconsider.

Some records we must keep, such as order and tax records. If you ask us to delete your information, we may keep those records, but we will remove what we can. If you sell or give away your digidisc, contact us and we can update the ownership record.

Children

Our site is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top. If the change is significant, we will also notify customers by email or a notice on our site before it takes effect.
