I flew for seven months and on the second day of June
I lost control of everything and crashed into the moon

Decided I was hungry so I fried myself an egg

Last Thanksgiving

Well late last year on a Thursday in November
I got on the phone and invited every member
Of the entire family over for a Thanksgiving feast
When the relatives arrived, well I showed them out back
To a pen I had built to show them ‘Old Jack’
‘Old Jack’ was the biggest old turkey that you ever did
see
Well I’m guessing he stood around six foot four
And he came in at five hundred pounds or more
I swear ‘Old Jack’ was as big as a buffalo
I bought him from a farmer named ‘Slippery Ryan’
Who lives up the road near Three Mile Island
But how he got so big I’ll never know
Jack just looked and said, “GOBBLE, GOBBLE, GOBBLE…
Step off son, it’s not me you’re ‘gonna swallow
If I’m the biggest turkey in the entire state
Then there’s just no way I’m ending up on a plate”
So he broke out of the pen and he ran around the yard
And he hopped over the fence and he jumped into our car
And he sped off down the road like a bolt of lightning
Well we all hopped into the minivan and I said
“Uncle Earl, drive as fast as you can
‘Coz Thanksgiving without turkey, well that’s just
frightening!”
Well Jack got onto the interstate and he’s bobbing and
weaving in and out of the lanes
An officer clocked him in at 109
The policeman sped off in pursuit and soon he was joined
by another two
Their sirens screaming out into the night

Well it’s been about a year and I’m sad to say
We never caught up with ‘Old Jack’ that day
‘Coz at 10:03 he crossed over into Jersey
And now looking back I’ll remember one thing
When I’m buying a bird for Thanksgiving

Dinosaurs

Well I hopped into my time machine and I went back 90
million years
To find some dinosaurs and check them out
I wanted a chance to see them up close, put to rest any
questions I may have had

Well I hopped out of that time machine and I slipped on
my way down
I hit my left elbow quite hard so I said ouch!
But what’s a little scrape when you’re out chasing
dinosaurs
It’s so much better than just sitting on the couch
Luckily I was prepared; I put a little bandage there
And went along my way without a word
I was distracted and didn’t see the big T-Rex staring down
at me

I think it scared that T-Rex off, ‘coz when I looked back
he was gone
I felt a bit relieved so I gave a smile

I took out my binoculars and looked
I saw parasauropholus, triceratops and carnosaurus
And a few I hadn’t seen in any books

I hit the purple blinking button that I had drawn with my
crayola

The cardboard box it started to shake and I praised the
strength of masking tape
And I told my teddy bear to hold on tight
A few moments later we were back at home, there in a
box on our front lawn
I gathered up my toys and I went inside
